Opening in theaters on July 27th is the new crime thriller from Oscar-winning director William Friedkin (The French Connection, The Exorcist) called Killer Joe, which was written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tracy Letts and based on his own play. The film stars Matthew McConaughey (Magic Mike), Emile Hirsch (Speed Racer), Juno Temple (Dirty Girl), Gina Gershon (Showgirls), and Oscar-nominee Thomas Haden Church (Sideways).

IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had the pleasure of sitting down with the film's star Matthew McConaughey to discuss his work on Killer Joe. The accomplished actor talked about the new film, working with legendary filmmaker Billy Friedkin, not liking the script when he first read it, his approach towards playing this unusual role, and how people will feel about fried chicken after seeing the film.
