Opening in theaters on September 28th is the new animated family comedy Hotel Transylvania from director Genndy Tartakovsky (TV's Samurai Jack) and writers Peter Baynham (Arthur Christmas) and Robert "Triumph the Insult Comic Dog" Smigel (You Don't Mess with the Zohan). The movie features superstar comedian Adam Sandler (Jack and Jill), along with many of his constant comedy cohorts such as Andy Samberg (That's My Boy), Kevin James (I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry), Steve Buscemi (Mr. Deeds), David Spade (Grown Ups), Jon Lovitz (Grown Ups 2), Molly Shannon (Saturday Night Live), and Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live), as well as newcomers to the Sandler World including Selena Gomez (Horton Hears a Who!), Fran Drescher (Cadillac Man), and CeeLo Green (Sparkle).
IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick had an opportunity to sit down with director Genndy Tartakovsky in July at Comic Con International in San Diego to talk about his work on Hotel Transylvania. The animation director discussed the new film, what he brought to the project, the tone of the movie, the iconic monster characters, casting Adam Sandler's troupe of actors, and his love for Mel Brook's Young Frankenstein, Love at First Bite, Once Bitten, and Tom & Jerry cartoons.

Dracula (Sandler), who operates a high-end resort away from the human world, goes into overprotective mode when a boy (Samberg) discovers the resort and falls for the count's teen-aged daughter (Gomez).
