Opening in theaters on October 11th is the new supernatural horror film Sinister from director Scott Derrickson (The Day the Earth Stood Still). The film stars Ethan Hawke (Training Day), Juliet Rylance (Animal), Fred Thompson (Die Hard 2), James Ransone (Inside Man), and Vincent D'Onofrio (Men in Black).
IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had a chance to sit down with Academy Award-nominee Ethan Hawke to talk about his work on Sinister, as well as his upcoming movie Getaway. The veteran actor discussed his new film, balancing its two distinctive tones, its refreshing use of "found footage," "Skype-acting" with Vincent D'Onofrio, the mood on set, what it's like working with child actors on a scary movie, and confirmation that Getaway is an original story and not another remake of the classic Sam Peckinpah movie The Getaway starring Steve McQueen.

Found Footage helps a true-crime novelist (Hawke) realize how and why a family was murdered in his new home, though his discoveries put his entire family in the path of a supernatural entity.
Sinister opens in theaters on October 12th.
Getaway is scheduled for release on December 1st, 2013.
