EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Eric Idle, Sophie Winkleman and Eddie Izzard Talk 'What About Dick?'

Available for digital download on November 13th is What About Dick?, an "emotion picture" (for Radio) written and directed by Monty Python's Eric Idle. Filmed live on stage at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles, the production features an all-star cast of British comedians and actors including Idle, Russell Brand (Rock of Ages), Billy Connolly (Brave), Tim Curry (The Rocky Horror Picture Show), Eddie Izzard (Cars 2), Jane Leeves (TV's Hot in Cleveland), Jim Piddock (The Five-Year Engagement), Tracey Ullman (Corpse Bride), and Sophie Winkleman (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Witch, the Lion and the Wardrobe). 

IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had the pleasure of sitting down with legendary comedian Eric Idle, actress/Royal Family member Sophie Winkleman, and actor/comedian Eddie Izzard to talk about their work on What About Dick? The three talented performers discussed their new project, how Idle got the idea for it, comparisons to Apocalypse Now, doing it live, being part of a radio stage play, the fact that all the members of Monty Python grew up with radio comedy, Spike Milligan, Peter Cook, putting together the project's fantastic cast, what it was like for Izzard and Winkleman to work with many of their comedic heroes, the project's musical component, improvising, having "a go" at famous Americans, Winkleman's short-lived stand-up comedy career, and the possibility of taking the show to Broadway.

What About Dick? begins with the birth of a sex toy invented in Shagistan in 1898, and tells the story of the decline of the British Empire as seen through the eyes of a piano, as well as the story of young Dick (Brand), his two cousins (Leeves and Winkleman), and their dipsomaniac Aunt Maggie (Ullman), who all live together in Kensington. 

What About Dick? will be available for digital download beginning November 13th.
