Currently playing in New York theaters and opening in Los Angeles theaters on December 7th is the new French-Belgian film Rust and Bone from acclaimed international director Jacques Audiard (A Prophet). The movie stars Academy Award-winner Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises), as well Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts (Bullhead), and is already earning early Oscar-buzz for Cotillard's impressive performance.
IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Matthias Schoenaerts to talk about his work on Rust and Bone. The actor discussed his new movie, finding a great role, the arc of his character, working with director Jacques Audiard, only meeting Marion Cotillard on set and not before filming, playing a broken person, and the attraction between his and Cotillard's two characters.
