Opening in theaters on January 4th is the seventh film in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise entitled Texas Chainsaw 3D. The movie is a reboot, while also a direct sequel to the 1974 classic, and the first film in the franchise to be presented in 3D. The film features a mix of young actors such as Alexandra Daddario (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief), Trey Songz (Baggage Claim), Scott Eastwood (Trouble with the Curve), Tania Raymonde (Crazy Eyes), and Shaun Sipos (Lost Boys: The Tribe), as well as many recognizable faces from the franchise including Bill Moseley (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Marilyn Burns (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre), John Dugan (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre), and the original Leatherface himself Gunnar Hansen (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre).
IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had a chance to sit down with actors Alexandra Daddario and Trey Songz to talk about their work on Texas Chainsaw 3D. The two young actors discussed their new film, joining the famous franchise, going back and watching the original films, Trey Songz's move from music to acting, Daddario's character's close connection to Leatherface, and if the classic horror maniac is really just misunderstood.
