Opening in theaters on January 4th is a new action thriller from director Damian Lee (Sacrifice) called A Dark Truth. The film was executive produced by veteran actors Andy Garcia (The Godfather Part III) and Kim Coates (FX's Sons of Anarchy). In addition to Garcia and Coates, the movie also features an excellent cast of supporting actors including Academy Award-winner Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland), Eva Longoria (For Greater Glory), Deborah Kara Unger (The Hurricane), and Steven Bauer (Scarface).
IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had the pleasure of sitting down with actor and filmmaker Andy Garcia for an exclusive extended interview to talk about his work on A Dark Truth, as well as his upcoming directing effort Hemingway & Fuentes. The Academy Award-nominated actor discussed his new film, producing it with Kim Coates, rewriting the screenplay, what he looks for when choosing a project, why he considers himself a filmmaker rather than an actor, collaborating with director Damian Lee, his characters motivations, acting opposite Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker, and an update on his next directing project - Hemingway & Fuentes, which he is set to co-star in along with Academy Award-winner Anthony Hopkins and Academy Award-nominee Annette Bening.
