Currently available on VOD and opening in theaters on January 11th is a new comedy-drama written by Chris Colfer (Fox's Glee) and directed by Brian Dannelly (Saved) called Struck by Lightning. In addition to writing the screenplay, Colfer also stars in the film along with an excellent cast of actors that includes Rebel Wilson (Bachelorette), Allison Janney (The Help), Christina Hendricks (Drive), Sarah Hyland (ABC's Modern Family), Angela Kinsey (NBC's The Office), and Dermot Mulroney (The Grey).
IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had a chance to sit down with actor/writer Chris Colfer, as well as actress Sarah Hyland to talk about their work on Struck by Lightning. The talented young actress discussed the new film, her character, and acting in scenes with the film's writer, while the multitalented Colfer discussed first penning the screenplay when he was still in high school, his writing process, actually casting a few of his most influential teachers from in the film, director Brian Dannelly and why he was a perfect fit for the project, working with the hilarious Rebel Wilson, watching her improvise on set, and if he's given any thought to writing another film.
