Premiering March 3rd on History is the new scripted series Vikings from show creator Michael Hirst (The Tudors). The series features an excellent cast of young actors including Travis Fimmel (TV's The Beast), Clive Standen (TV's Camelot), Katheryn Winnick (Stand Up Guys), Jessalyn Gilsig (TV's Glee), Gustaf Skarsgard (The Way Back), George Blagden (Les Miserables), as well as veteran actor Gabriel Byrne (The Usual Suspects, Miller's Crossing).
IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had a chance to sit down with George Blagden to talk about his work on Vikings. The young actor discussed the new series, his character, how he prepared for the role, why audiences will enjoy the show, how the costumes and sets helped him play his part, acting on a television series as apposed to a film, and working with the great Gabriel Byrne.

Vikings follows the adventures of Ragnar Lathbrok (Fimmel) the greatest hero of his age. The series tells the saga of Ragnar's band of Viking brothers and his family, as he rises to become King of the Viking tribes. As well as being a fearless warrior, Ragnar embodies the Norse traditions of devotion to the Gods, legend has it that he was a direct descendant of Odin, the God of war and warriors.
Vikings premieres on History March 3rd.
