Premiering on History March 3rd is the 10-hour, five-part, mini-series The Bible from executive producers Mark Burnett (TV's The Voice) and his wife actress Roma Downey (TV's Touched by an Angel). The series, which is based on the old and new testament, stars Downey, Paul Freeman (Raiders of the Lost Ark), Sebastian Knapp (28 Days Later), Darwin Shaw (John Carter), Amber Rose Revah (The Devil's Double), Adrian Schiller (Bright Star), Andrew Brooke (Sherlock Holmes), Francis Magee (Layer Cake), and Diogo Morgado as Jesus Christ.
IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick traveled to Malibu, California to the home of Mark Burnett and Roma Downey to talk to discuss their work on The Bible mini-series. The husband and wife producing team talked about their new project, the daunting task of condensing the stories of the bible into a 10-hour mini-series, what they wanted to keep in and what they had to leave out, and why Downey decided to take on the most challenging role of her career - playing Mary mother of Jesus.
