EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Jessica Lucas and Shiloh Fernandez Talk 'Evil Dead' and its Planned Sequel

Opening in theaters on April 5th is the highly anticipated new horror film Evil Dead, which is a remake of director Sam Raimi's classic The Evil Dead trilogy starring Bruce Campbell. The new movie was written and directed by Fede Alvarez, and features Jane Levy (Nobody Walks), Shiloh Fernandez (Skateland), Lou Taylor Pucci (Beginners), Jessica Lucas (Cloverfield), and newcomer Elizabeth Blackmore.

IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Jessica Lucas and Shiloh Fernandez to talk about their work on Evil Dead. The two actors discussed their familiarity with the franchise, it's incredible fanbase, the legacy of Bruce Campbell, original producers Campbell, Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert's involvement with the new film, Easter eggs from the first two movies, what it was like for Lucas to become a deadite, the planned sequel, and how Fernandez found out the plot from writer/director Fede Alvarez

SYNOPSIS:

Five friends (Levy, Fernandez, Pucci, Lucas, and Blackmore) head to a remote cabin, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads them to unwittingly summon up demons living in the nearby woods. The evil presence possesses them until only one is left to fight for survival. 

Evil Dead opens in theaters on April 5th.
