Opening in theaters on August 9th is the new comedy In a World..., which was written and directed by actress Lake Bell (Black Rock). In addition to Bell, the film stars Fred Melamed (A Serious Man), Demetri Martin (Contagion), Michaela Watkins (Wanderlust), Ken Marino (For a Good Time, Call...), Rob Corddry (Warm Bodies), Nick Offerman (Smashed), Jeff Garlin (ParaNorman), and Oscar-winner Geena Davis (Beetlejuice).
IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently the pleasure of sitting down with Lake Bell and Demetri Martin to talk about their work on In a World... The writer/director/actress discussed her new film, why she wanted to make a movie, her fascination with voice over actors, and she even gave us an example of her best movie trailer voice, while Martin talked about acting with the Bell, and improvising on set.

An underachieving vocal coach (Bell) is motivated by her father (Melamed), the king of movie-trailer voice-overs, to pursue her aspirations of becoming a voiceover star. Amidst pride, sexism and family dysfunction, she sets out to change the voice of a generation.
In a World... opens in theaters on August 9th.
