Opening in theaters on November 4th is the new Rock 'n' Roll comedy Killing Bono, based on Neil McCormick's 2003 memoir "Killing Bono: I was Bono's Doppelganger." The film is directed by Nick Hamm (Godsend) and stars an excellent cast of actors including Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian), Robert Sheehan (Season of the Witch), Krysten Ritter (She's Out of My League), Martin McCann (My Boy Jack), and the late Pete Postlethwaite (The Usual Suspects) in his final film performance.

IAR's managing editor Jami Philbrick recently had a chance to sit down with the film's director Nick Hamm, and star Ben Barnes, to discuss Killing Bono. The director and actor spoke freely about the new film, the true life story it is based on, the traps of celebrity, and U2's reaction to the film.

Once described by Steven Spielberg as “the best actor in the world”, beloved British actor Pete Postlethwaite has passed away at 64 years old. He died in the hospital after a long time bout with cancer.

Postlethwaite made his acting debut in 1975, and worked on nearly 100 projects since. His powerful but charming demeanor left him open to a great variety of roles; versatility quickly became a Postlethwaite trait.

Apple.com has just released the trailer for Ben Affleck's second directorial effort, The Town. What I must admit is, indeed, it does look like it's from the "director of Gone Baby Gone" as the trailer puts it. Affleck has got style, and if The Town is on par with his previous movie, it will be hard to deny that the actor has genuinely turned over a new page in his career. Would have been hard to imagine five or six years ago. Good for him.

Here's the synopsis for The Town:

Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) is an unrepentant criminal, the de facto leader of a group of ruthless bank robbers who pride themselves in stealing what they want and getting out clean. With no real attachments, Doug never has to fear losing anyone close to him. But that all changed on the gang's latest job, when they briefly took a hostage--bank manager, Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall). Though they let her go unharmed, Claire is nervously aware that the robbers know her name... and where she lives. But she lets her guard down when she meets an unassuming and rather charming man named Doug....not realizing that he is the same man who only days earlier had terrorized her. The instant attraction between them gradually turns into a passionate romance that threatens to take them both down a dangerous, and potentially deadly, path.
