IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick had a chance to speak with Maggie Grace before her panel on Saturday about Lockout, as well as the upcoming Taken sequel. Opening in theaters on January 27th is the new action-packed, wilderness-survival thriller from director Joe Carnahan (The A-Team) called The Grey. Liam Neeson has become one of the most exciting action heroes thanks to his thrilling performance in Taken. Is it any wonder that he has another one coming out that seems to offer fans exactly what they are looking for, Neeson kicking ass.
Unknown is the story of a man who is in a terrible car accident. He wakes after a four day coma remembering very little. Yet with what little memory he has, he finds that somebody is trying on his identity for size. That would include his name and his wife.
From the trailer, which recently premiered on Yahoo!, it looks like something that should please those who flocked to see Taken. The film also stars January Jones, Diane Kruger and Frank Langella and it is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.
Maggie Grace must have liked getting Taken so much, she wants to do it all over again! Deadline.com is reporting that the former "Lost" star is set to appear in Lock Out, which would reunite her with Taken writer-producer Luc Besson. The concept of the film? Why, it's "Taken meets Escape from New York... in Space!"
Guy Pearce is also attached to star in the film. Pearce would play a man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. He's offered his freedom if he can rescue the president's daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates. Grace, of course, is playing the daughter.
While Luc Besson has been a prolific Hollywood writer and producer over the last decade - The Transporter, Taken, From Paris with Love - he has not directed anything for Hollywood in a long time.
But now, as Besson shops around three projects he is producing, news comes that he is actually attached to direct one of them. So far, little is known about the project he will direct other than that it is an untitled love story co-written with David Marconi (Live Free or Die Hard).
