The estimates are in, everybody, and once again we have empirical evidence that audiences enjoy watching giant alien robots disguised as automobiles, Shia LaBeouf frantically running, and abundant explosions.  For the second consecutive weekend, Transformers: Dark of the Moon is the top dog at the domestic box office, pulling in an estimated $47 million and bringing its twelve-day domestic total to $261 million since its theatrical debut on June 29th.  On Sunday, Michael Bay's last Hasbro-based extravaganza slides past The Hangover Part II to become the highest grossing film of 2011 thus far.

Frank Coraci’s new comedy, The Zookeeper looks to have all the requirements to make it a fun, humorous film. A great cast, excellent screenwriter (Nick Bakay), and a goofy-but-entertaining plot could lead to more movie magic for funnyman Kevin James, who embraces the lead role.

The idea behind the film is rather basic, as the inhabitants of a certain zoo break their silence in order to help their zoo keeper gain the affection of one particular woman. It’s a little cheesy sounding, but it also sounds tailor made for kids, which means I’ll likely be heade to cinema’s when the time comes to appease my daughter (and my myself, secretly).

In Ron Howard’s latest The Dilemma, Vince Vaughn and Kevin James play best friends who would do anything to help each other out. That is until Vince realizes that Kevin’s lovely wife (played by Winona Ryder) is cheating on him.

Thus, he finds himself between a rock and a hard place. Should he tell his lifelong buddy about the love of his life and her cheating heart? Of course, in the world of “bromance”, there is bound to be confusion, miscommunication and painful pee.

Picture Kevin James as a mixed martial arts fighter. If that conjures up happy imagery for you, then I'm sure you'll be in heaven when you learn that Sony Pictures is developing a comedy about that very subject.

Because it doesn't want to be confused with the groundbreaking reality show of the same name, Ron Howard's Cheaters has undergone a title change. From now on it shall be known as What You Don't Know. I guess the next line is, "I'm a cheater."

The comedy, which has an impressive cast including Vince Vaughn, Kevin James, Channing Tatum, Winona Ryder, Jennifer Connelly and Queen Latifah, was written by hot scribe of the moment Allan Loeb (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps; the Escape from NY remake). It details what happens when a man (Vaughn) learns that his best friend's wife (Ryder) is cheating and must then navigate treacherous waters to decide what do with that knowledge.
